Home with the Hrochs: God is Good!

As many of you already know, we had a great report from the fetal specialist yesterday. Our prayer since last Wednesday was that Levi's level would stay below 1.5 because a level of 1.5 would mean he would have to get an in-utero blood transfusion. We went to the doctor expecting Levi's level to still be at 1.4 (because we had faith that God would answer our prayers), well God did more than just answer our prayers, He made Levi's level go down to 1.1....that's lower than our first visit which was 1.2!!!! The doctors had a difficult time getting an accurate reading becuase Levi was practicing he breathing, which interferes with the brain dopler reading. They wanted to make sure they got a valid reading, so they tested the blood flow MANY times. They got many different readings, none of which were above 1.4, but the doctor felt that the 1.1 reading was the most accurate...that's good with us...PRAISE GOD! So, here's the plan. Every Wednesday, we go to the fetal specialist so he can keep monitoring Levi. Every Friday, he wants us to go to our regular OB doctor so that she can monitor Levi's movements with a fetal monitor. So, it's back to the doctor tomorrow. That will be the third doctor's appt. in one week, but that is okay! My job right now is to make sure our baby is doing okay. I will go to as many doctor's appts. and drive down to the medical center as much as I have to in order to make sure our baby is okay! The good news is, if Levi's levels stay below 1.5 for two more weeks, he won't have to get a blood transfusion!!!!!! If he starts showing problems anytime after 35 weeks (which is in two weeks), we'll just deliver early.

Right now, he weighs 4 lbs. 14 oz. at 33 weeks and he is very active, which is a good sign. We also know that he has A LOT of hair! Ever since last week, the doctor commented on how much hair Levi has. We can see it on the ultrasound...it's just floating around his head...we even got a picture of it...heehee. Now, if we only knew what color is it...brown or blonde? I was born with A LOT of dark hair and Jacob was as blonde as they come....we'll see, but it's so exciting to learn fun little facts like that. We can't wait to see him and what he looks like...I know he'll be just adorable!

We finally got a chance to hang all the stuff on the walls in Levi's room. Here are some pictures. We're ready for him...even if he has to come early!

I just got the changing pad fabric today, so we still have to make the cover. It's just laying on the pad for these pictures. It's a brown cordoroy.

Jacob made the wooden stars from old wood on my parents' land. My sister-in-law, Sarah and her friend Stephanie, made this adorable "Cowboy" diaper cake. That's "Woody" and "Bullseye" from the Toy Story on top...cute!
